Your ItineraryFULL DAY: Lake Windermere, Lakeside, Hawkshead, Ambleside & Coniston Water
Our full day tour takes us into the heart of the Lakes and to the iconic waters of Lake Windermere. We pause at the southern-most end of Lake Windermere before making our way to the shores of Coniston Water, forever remembered as the fateful waters for Sir Donald Campbell’s Bluebird disaster. From here we head to Hawkshead, regarded as one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District. We conclude our day in bustling Ambleside with its narrow streets and quaint shops.
HALF DAY: Ullswater, Kirkstone Pass, Keswick & Grasmere
Our tour today begins as we ascend the spectacular Kirkstone Pass with its breath-taking lake and mountain views before reaching the shimmering waters of Ullswater and then the popular market town of Keswick. We finish our day in the idyllic village of Grasmere, where the poet William Wordsworth lived.
HALF DAY: Bowness-on-Windermere
Today we take a half day visit to Bowness-on-Windermere, the popular tourist haunt with its quaint alleyways and lively lakeside quay. From here it is possible to take a Windermere steamer on the magical waters of the largest lake.
