Excursions
FULL DAY: Lichfield & National Memorial Arboretum
We visit Lichfield, a cathedral city in Staffordshire, once known as ‘a city of philosophers’. Nowadays you'll find over 230 listed buildings and many examples of Georgian architecture that preserve much of its historic character. We then head to The National Memorial Arboretum, a site of national remembrance. Its objective is to honour the fallen, recognise service and sacrifice, and foster pride in the British Armed Forces and civilian community.
HALF DAY: Cotswolds Villages
This morning we head into the Cotswolds and visit Moreton-in-Marsh where there is an opportunity to explore the huge Tuesday market, a celebrated weekly event, which takes over the High Street, before concluding our day in Stow-on-the-Wold, where there is time to explore the ancient market square surrounded by dozens of independent antique shops.
HALF DAY: Stratford-upon-Avon
Most famous for its connections with William Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon is a market town with over 800 years of history. Located in the heart of rural Warwickshire, on the banks of the River Avon, the town offers a real slice of olde England.
