Your Itinerary:FULL DAY: Portmeirion Village & Snowdonia
This morning we visit Portmeirion Village, created by architect Clough Williams- Ellis in 1925 as a purpose-built holiday destination. Finally finished in 1976, it is now considered to be one of Wales’ premier attractions. This afternoon we head deep into the Snowdonia National Park to arrive in Betws-y-Coed, a picturesque mountain village, before making our way through the foothills of Snowdon to arrive in Beddgelert, a beautiful slate-stone village in the heart of the park.
FULL DAY: Caernarfon & The Isle of Anglesey
Today we make our way to Caernarfon, where King Charles III was invested as the Prince of Wales in the grounds of the impressive castle, which is surrounded by ancient walls and gateways that give a distinctly medieval atmosphere to the town centre. We cross the Menai Strait to ‘Ynys Mon’ (The Isle of Anglesey), calling at Llanfair PG, shortened from the 58-letter longest named village in Britain and the resort of Beaumaris, boasting a magnificent castle, pretty pier and lovely promenade.
HALF DAY: Llŷn Peninsula & Abersoch
The Llŷn Peninsula is a wildly beautiful stretch of land extending into the Irish Sea and affectionately known as “Snowdon’s Arm”. We take time to visit the highly sought-after seaside village of Abersoch, famous for its Blue Flag beaches and Pwllheli, which serves as the lively ‘capital’ of the peninsula with its independent shops and relaxed atmosphere.
