FULL DAY: Kendal, Grasmere, Ullswater & Kirkstone Pass
Our tour today begins as we skirt the northern shores of Lake Windermere to visit the idyllic village of Grasmere, where the poet William Wordsworth lived. Passing through the Cumbrian Mountains we head past the banks of Thirlmere and Ullswater before ascending the Kirkstone Pass with its breathtaking lake and mountain views. We conclude our day in Kendal, often referred to as the ‘Gateway to the Lakes’. This busy market town has many historical buildings, a Norman castle and many fascinating craft and curiosity studios.
