FULL DAY: Winchester
Winchester has been the Royal capital of Saxon Wessex, and England, for many centuries. There is also plenty of time to explore with a visit to the medieval Great Hall highly recommended. Winchester Christmas Market will also be open in December. Set in the stunning grounds of the cathedral and regarded as one of the finest Christmas markets in Europe, the market features over 100 wooden stalls selling high quality products, as well as food and drink. (Please note, the market is only open on our 24th November tour).
HALF DAY: Poole
This lovely town combines as a ferry port and departure point for the National Trust’s Brownsea Island, with its role as an affluent residential town and holiday centre. The quay is a delight to explore and a visit to the Poole Maritime Museum is well worthwhile.
EXTENDED HALF DAY: Salisbury
Famous for its magnificent Gothic cathedral and tallest spire in England, the grid-like streets, with their black and white half-timbered houses, are a joy to explore. Next, we visit the New Forest National Park.
