Itinerary
Excursions
Your Itinerary:FULL DAY: Canterbury & Whitstable
This morning we make our way to Canterbury - the cradle of Christianity - where the medieval texture of the city remains amongst the streets and precincts of the famous cathedral. This afternoon we head to the North Kent coast and the sleepy resort of Whitstable, offering idyllic seaside walks and flavour from its sheltered position at the head of the Swale.
HALF DAY: Deal
We head east along the Kent coastline today for a half day visit to Deal, a quintessential seaside town located among Kent’s famous White Cliffs. The town centre is a mix of fishermen’s cottages and Georgian townhouses, while the pier is often used in TV dramas.
FULL DAY: Rye & Hastings
A journey along the Channel coastline today and into East Sussex, where we take a visit to medieval Rye on market day, considered to be one of the best-preserved Cinque Ports, with quaint cobbled streets, half-timbered buildings and smuggler’s inns. Further along the coast, we reach Hastings, overlooked by William the Conqueror’s castle.
