The Lake District is one of the country’s finest scenic treasures. A verdant expanse of gently rolling hills against a backdrop of soaring mountain peaks, hidden lakes and cascading waterfalls, this much-loved corner of our country is bestowed with some of the most beautiful scenery imaginable. With its bustling lakeside towns, picture-postcard stone-built villages and dramatic mountain passes, this is a magical place to explore whatever the time of year.

Excursions
FULL DAY: Our full day tour takes us into the heart of the Lakes and to the iconic waters of Lake Windermere. First to Bowness-on-Windermere, the popular tourist haunt with its quaint alleyways and lively lakeside quays, before heading along the shores to pretty Lakeside. From here we head to Coniston Water, forever remembered as the fateful waters for Sir Donald Campbell’s Bluebird disaster.
HALF DAY: Our tour today takes us towards Ullswater before ascending the spectacular Kirkstone Pass with its breathtaking lake and mountain views before we reach Hawkshead, one the Lake District’s most picturesque villages. We conclude our day in the idyllic village of Grasmere, where the poet William Wordsworth lived.
HALF DAY: This morning we make our way towards the tranquil shores of Bassenthwaite Lake before arriving in Cockermouth, birthplace of Wordsworth, and with a fascinating history wall depicting its past.

For we have introduced improvements to our network of local pick up points across eastern, central and southern England, aimed at shortening your journey times and getting you away on holiday more easily and conveniently, meaning an altogether more relaxing start. We now have two pick up regions so your travel days will be more convenient, providing more efficient journeys, meeting your tour manager and fellow travellers earlier and in most cases arriving in resort earlier, please refer to our Pick-ups section below for more details.
The Tour Ref below indicates whether the tour departs from Area A or Area B by having either an A or B at the end. For example, GUK5A would be a tour departing from Area A.

Traveling from Departure Area A: Our new and improved network means for all UK and Ireland holidays you join your tour coach at our interchange area at Northampton Services on the M1, at junction 15A.
Travelling from Departure Area B: Our new and improved network means for all UK and Ireland holidays you join your tour coach at our interchange area at Beaconsfield Services on the M40, at junction 2.

The hotel is situated in 16 acres of grounds and gardens which provide access to Derwentwater and only a mile to the popular market town of Keswick.
