There are three miles of splendid promenades with lines of colourful deck chairs; the world-famous Carpet Gardens are a constant spectacle of beauty and colour; there are tea dances in the Winter Gardens, and the Grand Parade Bandstand plays host to the finest military bands from all over the world. Itinerary

Excursions

Your Itinerary:

FULL DAY: Brighton and the South Downs
We head west to the cosmopolitan city of Brighton. Here, there is plenty of time to enjoy its great diversity of attractions, from the Royal Pavilion and Palace Pier to the quirky shops of the Lanes. Our return will take us via the lovely South Downs countryside.

FULL DAY: Rye & Hastings
We begin today with a visit to medieval Rye, considered one of the best-preserved ancient Cinque Ports, with its cobbled streets and smuggler’s inns. This afternoon we travel along the coast to Hastings, overlooked by William the Conqueror’s castle, and famous as the location for the popular TV detective series Foyle’s War.

HALF DAY: Alfriston
This morning we ascend Beachy Head, the vast chalk promontory which marks where ‘the Downs’ are halted by the sea, before visiting the picturesque South Downs village of Alfriston.
