Retaining much of its Victorian atmosphere, the resort has a pier, seaside cafés, and lovely walks by the sea wall to neighbouring Shanklin and along the cliffs to Culver Down for panoramic views of the Channel. YOUR EXCURSIONS
HALF DAY: An extended half day excursion this morning as we head to Godshill, as arguably the prettiest village on the island, before heading to Ryde, a delightful 18th century town and holiday resort with spectacular views across the Solent to the mainland.FULL DAY: Hugging the south coast of the island we begin our day with a visit to the Isle of Wight Pearl, offering a combination of beautifully created jewellery and stunning views of the coastline. We continue to Alum Bay with its famous twenty-one colour sand cliffs and views of the famous Needles, before reaching the port of Yarmouth.
HALF DAY: Along the coast road to Shanklin Old Village – a real picture postcard setting with its thatched houses, well-tended gardens, pubs, restaurants and gift shops.
