Kent’s role in the defence of Britain during World War II was crucial and well documented. The first line of defence, the distinctive White Cliffs, was a sign of resilience and national sovereignty, both in vision and song, while the skies were busy with the sight of fighters and bombers passing over the Channel and returning home. On this new break for 2022 we combine memorials to the brave airmen of the RAF and pay tribute to all those who lost their lives defending the Realm.
