5 & 8 Days | Half Board | by Coach
Highlights: Cornish coastal scenery, Padstow, Mevagissey, Falmouth, Truro, Tintagel.
Pride of the spectacular Atlantic Coast, Newquay has a string of golden beaches and a character and warm welcome that is very much part of the Cornish tradition. The picturesque Old Harbour is a delight to explore, the busy town centre vibrates with holiday fun and Trenance Gardens abounds with activity.
All this, together with the breathtaking coastal scenery and unspoilt surrounding countryside, makes Newquay the most popular resort in the Duchy of Cornwall.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
Full day: This morning we take the coastal route, via the breathtaking scenery of Bedruthan Steps, to Padstow. This historic fishing port on the edge of King Arthur’s country is renowned today as much for its pretty quayside as its association with celebrity chef Rick Stein. Heading to the southern Cornish coast we come to Mevagissey, an ancient fishing port with narrow streets and a picture-postcard harbour.
Full day: Today’s full day excursion takes us to the maritime town and resort of Falmouth, guarded by the impressive Pendennis Castle headland. The rich seafaring heritage can be explored in the National Maritime Museum which is well worth a visit. In the afternoon we arrive in Truro, Cornwall’s ‘capital’, with its impressive cathedral, cobbled streets and lovely Georgian architecture.
Half day: A morning drive along the North Cornwall coast to reach Tintagel, famed for its mythical associations with King Arthur and Merlin. Here you can discover the antiquated old Post Office, King Arthur's Great Halls or perhaps view the ruins of Tintagel Castle where a new footbridge joins the headland and mainland for the first time in 500 years.
8 Day Holiday Bonus!
Full day: As an added bonus on 8 day holidays, you'll also enjoy an extra full day excursion. We make our way to England's most westerly point, Land's End, where rocky cliffs tower above the sea. Then we continue to St Ives, where we have time to explore this medieval fishing port with its maze of stone cottages, narrow streets and old world charm.
