Itinerary

Excursions

Your Itinerary

SATURDAY: Overnight hotel
Our door to door service will collect you from your home and connect you to your tour coach. From here we make our way to our overnight stop in time for dinner.

SUNDAY: Cross to Ireland & Guided tour of Dublin
We take the morning ferry from Holyhead to Dublin (breakfast voucher included). On arrival we include a guided tour of Dublin before enjoying a short amount of free time in the city before reaching our hotel on the outskirts of Dublin for one night.

MONDAY: Strokestown House & Gardens & National Famine Museum
Today we head west and visit Strokestown House & Gardens and the adjoining National Famine Museum. The house brings to life the gentrified living of the past, above and below stairs, while the contrasting Famine Museum reflects on this most tragic element of Ireland’s past. From here we continue our journey to reach our hotel in Galway.

TUESDAY: Galway
A day at leisure to explore Galway at your own pace. This small but striking city is a jewel in Ireland’s crown, with its colourful streets, unique cathedral and famous Eyre Square.

WEDNESDAY: Connemara National Park, Clifden & Kallary Harbour Cruise
A stunning day of touring as we venture into the Connemara National Park, a land of mountains, lakes and waterfalls. We visit pretty Clifden, ‘capital’ of Connemara before passing the castellated mansion of Kylemore Abbey to reach Killary Harbour. Here we take a cruise on Ireland’s only fjord before returning via Cong, where ‘The Quiet Man’ was filmed in 1951.

THURSDAY: Athlone, National Irish Stud & Japanese Gardens
Departing Galway this morning we head into the Lakelands of Ireland and visit the small town of Athlone, on the banks of the River Shannon. We then continue through the verdant countryside to reach the Irish National Stud, an Irish institution at the heart of the country’s passion for horse racing. There is time to discover the breeding and racing heritage as well as enjoying the tranquil Japanese Gardens, an exotic contrast before we continue to our hotel on the outskirts of Dublin.

FRIDAY: Guinness Storehouse & Overnight hotel
For our final morning in Ireland we include a real taste of Ireland with a visit to the famous Guinness Storehouse. Here you follow the story and process of Ireland’s most iconic tipple before having the chance to enjoy a taste of the ‘black stuff’ while admiring far reaching views of Dublin and the Wicklow Mountains. This afternoon we board the ferry back to Holyhead (dinner voucher included) before reaching our final overnight hotel.

SATURDAY: Return home
We conclude our Irish adventure with the journey home, being safely delivered back to your home address.
