Keilder Water Cruise & Bellingham
Our full day out begins with a trip through the sumptuous countryside to keilder Water, Europe’s largest manmade reservoir. We include a cruise to Leaplish, a waterside park in a setting of forest hills. There is an interesting visitor centre, birds of prey demonstrations, tea rooms, farm shops and traditional pubs. We pause in the pretty market town of Bellingham before returning to the hotel.
Cragside Estate, Belsay Hall Castle & Gardens
Treats today take in Cragside, an extraordinary Victorian manor and the first house in the world to be lit by hydroelectricity. Inside you’ll be intrigued by a plethora of ingenious gadgets while outdoors, the sumptuous grounds will take your breath away. We move on to Belsay Hall Castle & Gardens where you can step into history as you view the medieval castle, the Greek Revival Hall and the romantic gardens that link these grand buildings.
With its idyllic riverside setting, perhaps discover the impressive cathedral and imposing castle, visit the exceptional Oriental Museum which features displays from the Far East or explore medieval Crook Hall & Gardens with its Jacobean drawing room, maze and silver garden.
A stop in lovely Leyburn, home to quirky shops, tea rooms and Tennants auctioneers en route home completes a memorable holiday.

On our AIR & CRUISE holidays we offer an extended service with a radius of 35 miles from the listed points, for departures from Scottish ports and airports. Our much-loved free Door to Door service is available on all Glenton Palmer Select coach tours of four days or longer and many of our AIR & CRUISE holidays. A home collection may still be available from outside these areas but a supplement will apply.
Where advertised this free service it may be necessary to share your vehicle with other passengers on your tour. The pick-up will be at the address of the lead name on your booking. Additional pick-ups may be requested at a supplement of £20 per person. You will be driven from your home to a coach pick-up point and, on occasion, you may have to transfer to another vehicle before boarding the coach.
