Torquay has an enviable seafront, beautiful beaches and a stylish marina. As part of the English Riviera, this graceful South Devon town has been accredited by UNESCO as a Global Geopark in recognition of its astonishing landscape and geology with rocks dating back millions of years. Visitors can follow in the footsteps of Stone Age Man at Kents Cavern, a spectacular cave network where you can step back to when this labyrinth was home to ancient humans. Perhaps visit Torre Abbey, a monastery founded in 1196 with art galleries and an Agatha Christie inspired Potent Plants Garden featuring flora from the local writer’s novels. This holiday haven also has a museum with an exhibition dedicated to Agatha Christie and the Princess Pier promenade is where she roller-skated in her youth. Elsewhere, you might like to explore award-winning Babbacombe Model Village where you’ll find miniature houses and people displayed with a splash of humour and a soupçon of history.

Your Excursions
Dawlish & TeignmouthDawlish has a bustling town centre and a fantastic, long sandy beach from where you can take boat trips around the bay. Teignmouth boasts a traditional Victorian pier, a pleasant promenade, lido, pretty parks and a heritage centre.
Buckfast Abbey & the South Devon Railway
Explore Buckfast Abbey, a magnificent Benedictine monastery with a grandiose abbey and themed gardens. Perhaps browse the gift shop or have a bite to eat in the restaurant. From here, we head to the multi award winning South Devon Railway, a long established and well preserved steam railway, as well as a popular tourist attraction. Here we board our heritage carriage for a scenic trip through the beautiful valley of the
River Dart between Buckfastleigh and Totnes.
Paignton & Dartmouth River Cruise
Enjoy a morning visit to pretty Paignton, home to a pleasure pier and quaint harbour. From here we continue to Dartmouth where we embark on a delightful cruise on the River Dart, sailing us past Kingswear, the Britannia Royal Navy College, the tiny village of Dittisham, Sir Walter Raleigh’s boathouse and Agatha Christie’s Greenway House (6 day holidays only).
