8 Day River Cruise
Relax aboard your floating hotel as you glide gently along the picturesque waters of the Rhine, passing hilltop castles as you sail to the scenic Moselle. Highlights include the Roman fort city of Mainz, then Rudesheim, home to Drosselgasse, a winding street lined with taverns. Here you will also find Bromserburg Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with two metre thick walls and a wine museum. Koblenz stands at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle, and you can enjoy views of where the rivers meet at the Deutsches Eck promontory with its statue of Wilhelm I. We also call at the old town of Boppard with its medieval walls, picture postcard Cochem, and the typically German village of Alken.

Your Holiday Itinerary
Day One. We journey to our overnight ferry to the continent, where we enjoy dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.Day Two. We continue to our dinner, bed and breakfast overnight hotel.
Day Three. We make our way to Strasbourg to board the MS Monet. Settle into your cabin then join your fellow holidaymakers for a welcome cocktail reception. Afterwards, it’s dinner and entertainment, as your ship sails through the night.
Day Four. Wake up in Mainz, with its fairytale centre. Perhaps visit the elaborate cathedral, located in the historic heart of the town, opposite the Gutenberg Museum – one of the oldest museums of printing in the world. Then it’s back on board as we sail to Rudesheim where you might like to hop aboard the tourist land train to see the sights such as the imposing castle. Returning to your ship, enjoy dinner as we cruise to Boppard for free time to explore its lively squares and taverns at your own pace.
Day Five. Our ship glides to 2000-year-old Koblenz. Perhaps join the ship’s host or stroll along the riverside promenade, hop aboard the land train, or maybe take the chairlift up to the fortress. Later we cruise on to the enchanting village of Alken where you might like to visit lovingly restored Thurant Castle. Look forward to dinner and an evening of entertainment on board your ship.
Day Six. This morning it’s a scenic cruise meandering along the beautiful Moselle as you make your way to Cochem, where history and folklore are woven into every winding alleyway. This traditional riverside settlement is home to stately Reichsburg Castle, a towering medieval fortification overlooking the Moselle. Your final night onboard
features a farewell gala dinner.
Day Seven. After breakfast, we disembark in Cochem and travel to our overnight ferry back to the UK with dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.
Day Eight. We make our way home after our magical holiday.

The overall atmosphere on board is informal with casual clothing, although dressing up in the evening adds a touch of panache to the cruising experience.

Your holiday moves up a gear when you board your overnight ferry for your sailing to the continent. Drop your overnight bag in your cabin then explore the ship or unwind with an aperitif in one of the bars.
On Board Dining
All GLENTON continental holidays include dinner and breakfast onboard. Head to buffet restaurant where your waiter will show you to your table and take your order if you wish to purchase any drinks. Then you’re free to help yourself from the wide selection of tasty dishes from around the world. At breakfast, choose from continental or a fully cooked menu. Alternatively if you fancy treating yourself, why not upgrade to the à la carte restaurant and enjoy fine dining with full waiter service?
Entertainment
Make your way to the show lounge and enjoy live entertainment throughout the evening – or take your place on the dance floor for a wee boogie! Perhaps you’d like to catch a blockbuster movie at the cinema or try your luck at the casino.
Cabins
Your GLENTON continental holiday includes an air conditioned inside en suite cabin with bunk beds. However, you can upgrade to a cabin with level beds and/or sea view for a small supplement. Please ask your holiday advisor when booking.
