Dubbed “Scotland in Miniature” and the “Gem of the Firth of Clyde”, the bonnie Isle of Arran crams the very best of the mainland into an area just twenty miles long and ten miles wide. You’ll find an ever-changing coastline, mighty mountains, sheltered coves and verdant forests as well as inviting pubs and restaurants. No holiday on this lovely island would be complete without a visit to Brodick Castle & Gardens, a classic Victorian Highland estate that stands dramatically against the backdrop of Goat Fell Mountain and is renowned as Britain’s only island country park.
Guided tour of South Arran & Brodick Castle
In the company of an expert guide, we explore the southern side of the island stopping off at Arran Creamery cheese factory in Kilmory. From here, we continue through Whiting Bay to Brodick Castle & Gardens where we include entry to the National Trust property. Majestic Brodick Castle boasts breathtaking views across the bay and houses impressive collections of period furniture, paintings and sporting trophies.
Guided tour of North Arran
Today our expert guide takes us back in time as we drive through Machrie Moor, home to the ancient remains of six standing stone circles. We then visit Lochranza where we’re treated to a tour of the island’s whisky distillery. Our scenic drive continues with a stop at Arran Aromatics, the world famous toiletry empire that started life in a cottage kitchen on the island back in 1989.
