Muncaster Castle & Gardens and the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway

Standing in over seventy acres of woodland gardens, sprawling Muncaster Castle features towers and battlements while inside you’ll find a sumptuously furnished Great Hall, Library, Drawing Room and bedrooms. The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway is a major tourist attraction and an authentic steam locomotive that puffs its way through beautiful countryside and along a seven mile stretch of the stunning Cumbrian coastline.

The pastel painted market town of Cockermouth has a fascinating history wall depicting its past and it was the birthplace of William Wordsworth. Here you will find a memorial to the great poet as well as the Georgian townhouse where he was born. Attractions in Keswick include nineteenth century Moot Hall as well as art and craft galleries.

Whitehaven & Workington

Enjoy a visit into the heart of Whitehaven for free time to explore the resort at your own
pace – don’t miss the Dark Spirit of Whitehaven Warehouse. Later we make a stop in the coastal town of Workington at the mouth of the River Derwent where you’ll find a working harbour, historic churches and the Helena Thompson Museum with its displays of Georgian pottery, glass, silver and furniture.
