Wonderful sightseeing is in store featuring sky-scraping mountains and glassy lakes as we blend the loveliness of Austria with the chocolate box scenery of Switzerland and the enchanting magic of a fairytale fortress. Our base is medieval Feldkirch, a picturesque Austrian town nestling near the border with Liechtenstein and home to majestic Shattenburg Castle and the landmark Katzenturm tower. You will feel surrounded by history as you wander its Old Town’s winding alleys that trail off into secluded gardens and a bustling market square. We call at glamorous St Moritz where the remnants of St Mauritius Church have left this glitzy resort with a remarkable leaning tower. The treats keep coming with a visit to magnificent Hohenschwangau Castle, perched on the rugged foothills of the Alps and dating from the twelfth century. It later became the hunting residence for the Bavarian royal family, and its four striking corner towers and walls with battlements give the castle a medieval look. We also embark on spectacular train journeys that showcase sensational scenery and make this holiday unforgettable and extra special.

Your Holiday Itinerary
Day One. We travel to our overnight ferry to the continent, where we enjoy dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.
Day Two. We make our way to our dinner, bed and breakfast overnight hotel.
Day Three. We continue to the Hotel Weisses Kreuz for our five night stay. Enjoy a welcome drink of Gruss Gott and receive an information pack with a local map.
Day Four. Our outing today takes us through the Alpine valleys of the snaking Julier Pass to St Moritz. From here, it’s onwards over the Bernina Pass to Tirano in Italy where we board the famous Bernina-Express for an unforgettable ride through the mountainous scenery of the Albula Pass.
Day Five. Today we enjoy a guided tour of Feldkirch, the medieval city of the Counts of Montfort. Afterwards, continue exploring at your own pace. Perhaps browse for souvenirs at the pretty as a picture Marktgasse cobblestoned shopping street.
Day Six. Our day begins with a scenic drive passing the glassy lakes of Walen and Lucerne reaching Altdorf, the hometown of William Tell, where you can view the monument to this Swiss hero and fabled son. Continuing to Andermatt, we board the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn and travel in panoramic carriages along the tracks of the Glacier Express, the most famous railway in the world, taking in incomparable vistas.
Day Seven. An enchanting day is in store as we wind our way through stunning lake and mountain landscapes to the German city of Fussen. We then enjoy a romantic horse driven carriage ride up to Hohenschwangau Castle, where we take in a guided tour. This storybook château was built on the remains of a medieval castle. It was the summer and
hunting residence of the Bavarian royal family and houses exquisite furnishings and wall paintings.
Day Eight. Look forward to receiving a wee souvenir of Austria from your hosts as we check out and make our way to our dinner, bed and breakfast overnight hotel.
Day Nine. We continue to our overnight ferry back to the UK with dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.
Day Ten. We journey home after our thrilling holiday.

Your holiday moves up a gear when you board your overnight ferry for your sailing to the continent. Drop your overnight bag in your cabin then explore the ship or unwind with an aperitif in one of the bars.

All GLENTON continental holidays include dinner and breakfast onboard. Head to buffet restaurant where your waiter will show you to your table and take your order if you wish to purchase any drinks. Then you’re free to help yourself from the wide selection of tasty dishes from around the world. At breakfast, choose from continental or a fully cooked menu. Alternatively if you fancy treating yourself, why not upgrade to the à la carte restaurant and enjoy fine dining with full waiter service?
