Our holiday is based in Calella, the tourist capital of the stunning Costa del Maresme, just north of Barcelona on the Catalan coast. This hidden gem benefits from a coast-hugging train, taking visitors to Barcelona and to the little villages that dot this shoreline. Calella is a popular resort featuring whitewashed houses, a sandy beach and a landmark lighthouse. Enjoy a stroll along the shady trails of the town’s Parc Dalmau and view the medieval buildings in the old town. You’ll also find a seafront promenade, bars and restaurants.

Your Holiday Itinerary
Day One. We head to our overnight ferry to the continent, enjoying dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.Day Two. We continue to our overnight dinner, bed and breakfast stop.
Day Three. We proceed into Spain and to Calella where we check into the Hotel Volga for our ten night stay.
Christmas Eve. We visit Montserrat, home to a Benedictine Monk retreat. This mountainside monastery is surrounded by unique rock formations and attracts religious pilgrims with its holy grotto where visitations from the Virgin Mary were reported. Perhaps visit the museum with its treasure trove of art and view the statue of the Black Madonna.
Christmas Day & Boxing Day - Two free days to relax or explore.
Day Seven. Today we travel along the Costa Brava coastline firstly to Tossa de Mar where the seafront is dominated by a medieval old town with ramparts towering over the beach. Later, we move on to Lloret de Mar, a popular resort with old town character.
Day Eight. A holiday highlight as we head to beautiful Barcelona, home to Gaudi’s awesome La Sagrada Familia Cathedral. This fine city features a Gothic Quarter with snaking streets, haunting architecture and atmospheric nooks and crannies. Don’t miss Las Ramblas, the city’s vibrant boulevard with street musicians and a buzzing atmosphere.
Day Nine. Girona today, a city that nestles on the banks of the River Onyar and is renowned for its ancient architecture, especially it’s walled Old Quarter and the remains of a Roman fortress. Take a stroll along the medieval walls that are flanked by landscaped gardens and feature watchtowers offering glorious views.
Days Ten, Hogmanay & New Year’s Day. At leisure to relax or explore.
Day Thirteen. Adios to Calella as we head to our overnight dinner, bed and breakfast hotel.
Day Fourteen. We travel to our ferry back to the UK, with dinner, entertainment and breakfast onboard.
Day Fifteen. We make our way home after our Spanish festive adventure!

Overnight Ferry to Continent
Your holiday moves up a gear when you board your overnight ferry for your sailing to the continent. Drop your overnight bag in your cabin then explore the ship or unwind with an aperitif in one of the bars.

All GLENTON continental holidays include dinner and breakfast onboard. Head to buffet restaurant where your waiter will show you to your table and take your order if you wish to purchase any drinks. Then you’re free to help yourself from the wide selection of tasty dishes from around the world. At breakfast, choose from continental or a fully cooked menu. Alternatively if you fancy treating yourself, why not upgrade to the à la carte restaurant and enjoy fine dining with full waiter service?

Make your way to the show lounge and enjoy live entertainment throughout the evening – or take your place on the dance floor for a wee boogie! Perhaps you’d like to catch a blockbuster movie at the cinema or try your luck at the casino.
