Your Excursions

Bygone Times & Chorley Market
Set in a seventeenth century converted cotton mill, Bygone Times is Lancashire’s finest historic shopping destination. Browse over five hundred stalls offering antiques, collectables, jewellery, vintage clothing, artwork, war memorabilia and period furniture. Be sure to visit the war museum with its uniforms, relics, medals and even a WWII trench. Don’t miss the penny arcade, home to a range of classic gaming machines from yesteryear. Perhaps view the plants and pottery at the garden centre and take a break from your browsing at the Cotton Cafe. From here, we continue to Chorley where you can haggle with the traders at the buzzing street market.

Liverpool
Visitor attractions include Albert Dock where you can step back to the 1960s and discover how four young Liverpool lads were thrust to the dizzying heights of fame at The Beatles Story - a living history museum where the band’s legend unfolds through memorabilia, photographs and replicas. Sticking with the Fab Four, perhaps venture through the bright red gates of Strawberry Field – the famous grounds where a young John Lennon came to reflect. This interactive experience tells the tale of the Victorian children’s home and John Lennon’s childhood. Albert Dock is also home to The Tate Liverpool, International Slavery Museum and the Merseyside Maritime Museum.
Perhaps follow the time honoured tradition of catching the ferry across the Mersey,
or use the hop on, hop off bus to see the sights.
