Skegness boasts golden sands, fragrant gardens and seafront entertainment such as crazy golf and Skegness Pier with its amusements and ice cream parlours. The resort’s award-winning Natureland Seal Sanctuary is best known for rescuing injured seals from local beaches but is also where you can watch the hilarious antics of penguins and view colourful tropical fish. Perhaps head to Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve, home to a variety of birds with its stretch of unspoilt dunes, salt marshes and lagoons, as well as an interesting visitor centre.

Gunby Hall Estate & Gardens
This splendid estate with Victorian walled gardens is home to the Massingberd family and has links to both Darwin and Tennyson. It features a country house, dating from 1700, full of ornate rooms, brimming with character. Explore three floors of the house, viewing historic pieces amassed over generations and hearing stories about Gunby’s intriguing past from room guides. Outside, there are eight acres of gardens to discover. Perhaps enjoy a cuppa in the charming tearoom.
