This sightseeing holiday showcases fine scenery with picturesque towns, leafy countryside, sparkling rivers and storybook villages. Discover the stunning elegance and half timbered Tudor architecture of Stratford-upon- Avon from the vantage point of a river cruiser then explore the breathtaking timelessness of the Cotswolds when we visit chocolate box Stow-on-the-Wold and impossibly pretty Bourton-on-the-Water. A day in Worcester with its half timbered Friar Street and fairytale Tudor House adds to the charm of this scenic and relaxing tour.
Your Holiday Itinerary
Day One. From local joining points we head south and check into the Chesford Grange Hotel.
Day Two. We experience the beating heart of beautiful Stratford-upon-Avon on a relaxing cruise sailing you through the historic canal lock and into the sparkling River Avon. Enjoy light-hearted commentary narrated by Shakespearian actors telling you all about the town’s heritage along with some gossip about the Bard.
Day Three. We enjoy a day in ancient Worcester where the skyline is dominated by the tower of the beautiful cathedral that houses royal tombs, medieval cloisters and an ancient crypt. Perhaps visit the fascinating thirteenth century Commandery or head to enchanting half-timbered Friar Street to browse the unique boutiques and explore the Tudor house.
Day Four. Look forward to discovering the picture postcard villages of the Cotswolds including pretty Stow-on-the-Wold with its vast market square, fifteenth century penal stocks and charming promenade of shops and cottages. Bourton-on-the-Water straddles the River Windrush with a procession of ornate bridges and stone embankments and is known as “Little Venice”.
