A highlight will be our ride on England’s most scenic railway travelling from Settle to Carlisle, calling at remote stations, while taking in twenty viaducts and fourteen tunnels. Browse for bargains at Bury Market, then enjoy a nostalgic train ride before resuming your shopping at Oswaldtwistle Mills. Finally, our visit to pretty Skipton will be enhanced by a leisurely cruise on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

Your Excursions
Settle – Carlisle RailwayWe board our train at Settle then travel through the Yorkshire Dales and over the Ribblehead Viaduct before plunging into the longest tunnel on the line at Blea Moor. We arrive in Carlisle where you’ll have free time to perhaps view the castle.
Bury Market, East Lancashire Steam Railway & Oswaldtwistle Mills
First up is a visit to bustling Bury Market, where you’ll find hundreds of stalls. We then board our carriage on the East Lancashire Steam Railway, taking us past quaint stations and through the scenic Irwell Valley to Rawtenstall. We continue to the popular shopping village of Oswaldtwistle Mills.
Skipton & Leeds and Liverpool Canal Cruise
Skipton is dominated by its commanding 900-year-old castle. There will be time to explore the town before we board our boat for a pleasant sail on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
