This sightseeing holiday is based at the charming Arrochar Hotel. Dating from the nineteenth century, this establishment commands an unrivalled position at the foot of the ‘Arrochar Alps’, on the shores of Loch Long and just a few miles from Loch Lomond. It boasts views across the glassy water and is both an idyllic hideaway and an excellent starting point from which to explore this spectacular region. We visit Callander, where you’ll find a sprinkling of souvenir boutiques and tearooms as well as Callander Meadows - a picturesque walking route by the banks of the River Teith. From here, we continue to the pier for our sail on Loch Katrine, a fresh water loch in the heart of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. On another day, we venture out to Oban, home to some of Scotland’s most glorious seascapes. We round off our tour with a scenic cruise on Loch Lomond, admiring its magnificence.

Callander & Loch Katrine CruiseWe make our way to Callander, known to many as Tannochbrae from its days as the filming location for the 1960s television series, Dr Finlay’s Casebook. In fact, the town’s Arden House was the main character’s fictional home. Later, we continue to the pier to board our boat for a sightseeing cruise. Relax and take in the wonderful vistas as we cruise on thirteen kilometre long Loch Katrine. Its beauty has inspired literary figures such as Sir Walter Scott and William Wordsworth.
Oban
The pretty harbour town of Oban bustles with life and its harbour is busy with boats setting sail for the islands. The town boasts a level esplanade, perfect for a stroll, and whisky distillery as well as Pulpit Hill where you can experience stunning views across the Firth of Lorne.
