Scarborough, Whitby, Bridlington & Filey

5 Day Coach Holiday
Scarborough is a pretty and popular resort with two sandy bays split by a headland bearing a twelfth century castle with a turbulent history of medieval sieges, civil war armies and WWII naval bombardment. The town has a Victorian funicular train linking the centre with the bay and harbour. Don’t miss the oriental themed Peasholm Park, voted sixth best park in the UK and where you’ll find Japanese gardens, a boating lake and waterfalls as well as the world famous Naval Warfare – a unique miniature naval battle that has been shown on TV screens across the globe. Another must see is the Rotunda Museum, set in a curved Grade II listed building, it displays fascinating and ancient artefacts. Perhaps you’d like to view fine art at the resort’s gallery, housed in an Italianate villa in Crescent Gardens. Take a trip on the quaint North Bay Miniature Railway, make use of the open top buses to see the sights, enjoy a cliff top stroll, amble around the harbour or relax in a pavement café.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.

Your Excursions
WhitbyWhitby is a jewel on the Yorkshire coast with cobbled streets and a sandy beach. Perhaps follow in the footsteps of Captain Cook taking in the harbourside home where he came to serve his apprenticeship. This seventeenth century dwelling is now the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, housing paintings, model ships, maps and letters written by the great explorer. Whitby is also home to the haunting abbey, which, along with twelfth century St Mary’s Church, inspired Bram Stoker’s gothic tale of Dracula.
Bridlington & Filey
Stroll Bridlington’s award winning promenade or its quaint old town which featured in the 2016 Dad’s Army movie. Explore the pre-Roman harbour, hop on the land train that runs up and down the seafront or step aboard a pleasure cruiser for a sail around the harbour. Later we continue to Filey, a former fishing village, rich in heritage and home to a variety of seabirds as well as Edwardian architecture, quirky shops, a distillery and an intriguing museum.
