This autumn cruise combines coastal scenery with fascinating history. Orkney boasts pristine beaches and dramatic seas crashing against towering cliffs. The island’s attractions include standing stones known as the Ring of Brodgar, the harbour of Stromness and Skara Brae - a Stone Age settlement that predates the Pyramids. Shetland has a craggy coastline peppered with arches and caves. Lerwick is the county town and the isle boasts Bronze Age, Viking and Medieval settlements as well as Jarlshof – one of the most remarkable archaeological sites ever excavated. We include a dinner, bed and breakfast hotel stay in the north of Scotland before exploring these enchanting islands as we cruise aboard our Northlink Ferry.

Your Excursions
Guided Tour of OrkneyWe head to Scrabster to board the MV Hamnavoe and set sail for the Orkney Islands. Perhaps enjoy lunch on board as we cruise past the Old Man of Hoy. We meet our guide in Stromness in the afternoon for our tour of the World Heritage Site of Skara Brae, the mystical Ring of Brodgar, the Standing Stones of Stenness and Scapa Flow. Includes dinner this evening in a local restaurant before we board our ferry at Kirkwall to cruise to the Shetland Islands.
Guided Tour of Shetland
After breakfast on board, we meet our guide in Lerwick for a tour taking in landmarks such as the archaeological site of Jarlshof and Scalloway Castle. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to explore before we rejoin our ship for an early evening sail to Aberdeen, with dinner on board.
Perth
We pause in Perth on our return journey for some free time.
