Gasp at beautiful coastal scenery and experience fascinating history and culture as we sail into the sunset on this dreamy cruise. Orkney boasts inspirational landscapes where verdant fields tumble down to secluded beaches and powerful seas crash against towering cliffs. This endless feast for the senses takes us to the circle of standing stones known as the Ring of Brodgar, the pretty harbour of Stromness and Skara Brae, a Stone Age settlement that predates the Pyramids. Romantic Shetland is equally beautiful with a craggy coastline studded with arches and caves. Ancient Lerwick, county town of the Shetlands boasts Jarlshof – one of the most remarkable archaeological sites ever excavated and home to Bronze Age, Viking and Medieval settlements. This scenic holiday includes an overnight stay in the north of Scotland before we explore these enchanting islands aboard the stylish Northlink Ferry.

Your Holiday Itinerary
Day One. We make our way to the north of Scotland and check into our hotel for dinner and our overnight stay.
Day Two. We head to Scrabster where we board the MV Hamnavoe and set sail for the Orkney Islands. Perhaps enjoy lunch on board as we cruise past soaring cliffs and the fabled Old Man of Hoy. We arrive in Stromness mid afternoon where we will be met by our local guide for a fascinating tour that takes in the World Heritage Site of Skara Brae, the mystical Ring of Brodgar, the Standing Stones of Stenness and Scapa Flow. In the evening we enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before boarding the ferry at the Orkney capital of Kirkwall for our cruise to the Shetland Islands.
Day Three. We arrive in Lerwick and tuck into breakfast on board before meeting up with our local guide. Today’s tour includes Jarlshof – one of the most remarkable archaeological sites ever excavated as well as Scalloway Castle, a tower house dating back to 1600, built by the Earl of Orkney. Following some free time in Lerwick, we rejoin our ship for an early evening departure to Aberdeen, enjoying dinner on board.
Day Four.Enjoy breakfast on board before we disembark and head to Perth on the
banks of the River Tay for some free time before continuing home
