From our base at the traditional Murphy’s Hotel, Tubbercurry, we visit the pilgrimage village of Knock, picturesque Westport and historic Sligo. Since the Apparition of Mary, Our Lady on the 21st of August 1879, pilgrims and visitors have been welcomed in the village of Knock, County Mayo and to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Knock. This peaceful place offers space for contemplation and prayer. Knock came to the world’s attention in 1979 when Pope John Paul II visited the shrine.

Your Excursions
National Shrine of Our Lady of KnockToday we visit one of the world’s leading Marian shrines situated in the plains of East Mayo where fifteen men, women and children witnessed an Apparition of Mary. We visit the Basilica, the largest church in Ireland where there will be time for prayer, followed by free time to explore the village of Knock.
Westport
This lovely Georgian town is home to glorious churches, quaint avenues, a heritage centre and leafy forest walks.
Sligo
We spend the day in historic Sligo, home to a thirteenth century abbey, contemporary art gallery and museum charting Sligo’s Stone Age past.
