A holiday highlight is our visit to the Mary Rose Museum, located in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and exhibiting the only sixteenth century warship on display anywhere in the world.
Portsmouth & Mary Rose Museum
The great waterfront city of Portsmouth has a wealth of attractions such as the D-day Museum and Spinnaker Tower. Just metres from Nelson’s flagship HMS Victory in Portsmouth’s Historic Dock, the exciting Mary Rose Museum was built around the sixteenth century warship presenting an intriguing insight into Tudor life.
This charming city features a 900-year-old Norman Cathedral with unique architecture, medieval features, a walled garden and the Cloisters Cafe. Elsewhere in this elegant city you’ll find the Pallant House Gallery which exhibits modern art and the Novium – a museum showing a Roman bath house remains as well as a thirteenth century priory.
Isle of Wight
We sail over to visit the island’s capital of Newport and the picture postcard old village of Shanklin where you’ll find quaint thatched cottages.
