5 Day Coach Holiday
Enjoy the best of Yorkshire, based the York City Wheatland’s Lodge Hotel. Treats include time in the walled city of York, a storybook metropolis and truly a historic treasure, with a breathtaking thirteenth century Gothic minster. Its City Walls offer a pleasant walkway on both banks of the River Ouse, while York Castle is a commanding tower, set high on a mound giving panoramic cityscape views. We travel to the old spa town of Harrogate with its quirky delights, Turkish baths and famous Bettys Café Tea Rooms. For our final outing, we take in the spectacular scenery of the Yorkshire Dales as we wind our way to ancient Skipton, where we enjoy a fun canal cruise with witty recorded commentary on board.

Guided Tour of YorkLook forward to a guided tour of York, a city celebrated for its Roman, Viking and medieval heritage. It is truly a delight to explore its narrow alleyways. After your tour, perhaps take a boat trip on the River Ouse, visit the National Railway Museum or step back a thousand years at the JORVIK Viking Centre. Don’t miss magnificent York Minster – an absolute masterpiece of sculptured stone and stained glass windows.
Harrogate
We spend a day in the Victorian spa town of Harrogate, famous for its stylish Montpellier Quarter, Grade II listed Royal Pump Room and splendid St Wilfrid’s Church. Perhaps have a cuppa in landmark Bettys Café Tea Rooms or a stroll through Valley Gardens where you’ll find seasonal flowers and an Art Deco pavilion.
Skipton & Comedy Canal Cruise
We snake through the scenic Yorkshire Dales to delightful Skipton where we enjoy a cruise on the picturesque Leeds & Liverpool Canal. This sailing features side-splitting recorded commentary from award winning comedian, Dave Spikey from Phoenix Nights and 8 Out Of 10 Cats fame. Along with the jokes, you’ll hear about points of interest and canal history. Afterwards, free time in Skipton. Perhaps visit the 900-year-old castle, one of the best preserved medieval castles in England. It features twin towers, a banqueting hall, kitchen, bedchamber, privy, dungeon and watchtower. Otherwise, stroll along the tow path to Aireville Park, or visit the Craven Museum & Gallery.
