Enjoy the best of Yorkshire while staying at the superb Britannia Hollins Hall Hotel, Golf & Country Club. This sprawling, Victorian country house stands grandly in 200 acres of landscaped parkland, boasts excellent leisure facilities, a delightful furnished terrace, and an eighteen hole championship golf course. Treats include a day in the walled City of York, complete with guided tour to help you make the most of your visit. This storybook metropolis is truly a historic treasure, with a breathtaking thirteenth century Gothic minster. The City Walls offer a pleasant walkway on both banks of the River Ouse, while York Castle is a commanding tower, set high on a mound giving panoramic cityscape views. On another day, we travel to the old spa town of Harrogate with its quirky delights, Turkish baths and famous Bettys Tearoom. For our final outing, we take in the spectacular scenery of the Yorkshire Dales as we wind our way to ancient Skipton, where we enjoy a fun canal cruise with rib tickling commentary onboard.

Guided Tour of YorkLook forward to a guided tour of York, a city celebrated for its Roman, Viking and medieval heritage. It is truly a delight to explore its narrow alleyways. After your tour, perhaps take a boat trip on the River Ouse, visit the National Railway Museum or step back a thousand years at the Jorvik Viking Centre. Don’t miss magnificent York Minster – an absolute masterpiece of sculptured stone and stained glass windows.
Harrogate
We spend a day in the Victorian spa town of Harrogate, famous for its stylish Montpellier Quarter, Grade II listed Royal Pump Room and splendid St Wilfrid’s Church. Perhaps have a cuppa in landmark Bettys Tearoom or a stroll through Valley Gardens where you’ll find seasonal flowers and an art deco pavilion.
Skipton & Comedy Canal Cruise
We snake through the scenic Yorkshire Dales to delightful Skipton where we enjoy a cruise on the picturesque Leeds & Liverpool Canal. This sailing features side-splitting commentary from award winning comedian, Dave Spikey from Phoenix Nights and 8 Out Of 10 Cats fame. Along with the jokes, you’ll hear about points of interest and canal history. Afterwards, free time in Skipton. Perhaps visit the 900-year-old castle, one of the best preserved medieval castles in England. It features twin towers, a banqueting hall, kitchen, bedchamber, privy, dungeon and watchtower. Otherwise, stroll along the tow path to Airville Park, or visit the Craven Museum & Gallery.
