Cosmopolitan Liverpool is home to a vast range of attractions and this “must do” tour presents the perfect opportunity to experience the very best of this iconic city. Look forward to a guided tour taking in the wealth of landmarks that make Liverpool perennially popular. We follow the time honoured tradition of hopping aboard a ferry across the Mersey then explore Port Sunlight - a unique village where you’ll find over nine hundred Grade II listed buildings to admire. We also visit Port Sunlight’s Lady Lever Art Gallery, home to truly outstanding collections. For a change of scenery, a day at the seaside in scenic Southport is just the ticket.
Your Holiday Itinerary
Day One. From local joining points we head south to Liverpool and check into the Shankly Hotel.
Day Two. Look forward to a guided tour of the numerous listed buildings, superb museums, art galleries and notable landmarks that make Liverpool such an exciting city. Afterwards, continue exploring at your own pace.
Day Three. We follow the tradition of hopping aboard the ferry across the Mersey then continue to the unique village of Port Sunlight. Founded by ‘Soap King’ William Hesketh Lever in 1888, the village was originally built to house Lever’s Sunlight Soap factory workers. Nowadays it is home to an intriguing museum, splendid architecture and beautiful parkland. We include entry to the village’s Lady Lever Art Gallery where you’ll find outstanding paintings, tapestries, Wedgwood, sculptures and embroideries.
Day Four. A day in coastal Southport where you might like to explore the landmark pier, stroll around the marine lake, relax on the sandy beach, browse the shops in refined Lord Street, visit the botanic gardens or wander along the promenade.
Day Five. After breakfast, we journey home.Back to top
