On this tale of two cities, you’ll enjoy time in two popular and contrasting tourist magnets. Explore Liverpool at your own pace perhaps taking in the listed buildings, superb museums and notable landmarks that make it such an exciting metropolis. Maybe follow the time-honoured tradition of hopping aboard the colourful ferry across the Mersey for the ultimate sightseeing experience or use the hop on, hop off bus to get around. Don’t miss Albert Dock, home to The Beatles Story, Tate Liverpool, Merseyside Maritime Museum, Victorian Carousel and The International Slavery Museum as well as shops, bars and restaurants. Other attractions include the Cavern Club, Strawberry Field, Royal Liver Building, and the Walker Art Gallery. We travel to Chester, a historic gem on the River Dee that never fails to delight. Walk the city walls, take a boat trip, visit the cathedral, or discover the Roman amphitheatre, the castle and The Rows. For a change of scenery, a day at the beach in Southport is just the ticket, with its golden sands, Grade II listed pleasure pier, seafront marine lake and pleasant promenade.

Walk the city walls or visit the cathedral, a beautiful building that began life as a Saxon Minster. If you’re not squeamish, discover the history of medicine at the Sick to Death Museum!
Southport
A day in coastal Southport where you might like to explore the Grade II listed pleasure pier that has its own tramcar. Stroll around the marine lake, relax on the sandy beach, or visit the colourful botanic gardens with its leafy pathways to explore. For retail therapy, refined Lord Street is a heritage trail as well as the epitome of elegant shopping in classy surroundings and is believed to be one of the first boulevards in the world. For something a little bit different, the quirky British Lawnmower Museum promises a unique experience.
