A tale of two cities, as we enjoy time in two popular and contrasting tourist magnets. Explore Liverpool at your own pace taking in the numerous listed buildings, superb museums and notable landmarks that make it such an exciting metropolis. Perhaps follow the time-honoured tradition of hopping aboard the ferry across the Mersey or use the hop on, hop off bus to get around. Don’t miss Albert Dock, home to The Beatles Story, Tate Liverpool, Merseyside Maritime Museum, Victorian Carousel and The International Slavery Museum as well as shops, bars and restaurants. Other attractions include the Cavern Club, Strawberry Field, Royal Liver Building, and the Walker Art Gallery. We travel to Chester, a historic gem that never fails to delight with its old City Walls overlooking the River Dee. Visit the cathedral, discover the Roman amphitheatre, the castle and The Rows - maybe take a boat trip or stroll along the riverbank. For a change of pace, a day at the seaside in scenic Southport is just the ticket.

A day in coastal Southport where you might like to explore the Grade II listed pleasure pier that has its own tramcar. Stroll around the marine lake, relax on the sandy beach, or visit the colourful botanic gardens with its leafy pathways to explore. For retail therapy, refined Lord Street is the epitome of elegant shopping in classy surroundings. For something a little bit different, the quirky British Lawnmower Museum promises a unique experience.
