A tale of two cities, as we enjoy time in two popular and contrasting tourist magnets. Explore Liverpool at your own pace taking in the numerous listed buildings, superb museums and notable landmarks that make it such an exciting metropolis. Perhaps follow the time-honoured tradition of hopping aboard the ferry across the Mersey or use the hop on, hop off bus to get around. Don’t miss Albert Dock, home to The Beatles Story, Tate Liverpool, Merseyside Maritime Museum, Victorian Carousel and The International Slavery Museum as well as shops, bars and restaurants. Other attractions include the Cavern Club, Strawberry Field, Royal Liver Building, and the Walker Art Gallery. We travel to Chester, a historic gem that never fails to delight with its old City Walls overlooking the River Dee. Visit the cathedral, discover the Roman amphitheatre, the castle and The Rows - maybe take a boat trip or stroll along the riverbank. For a change of pace, a day at the seaside in scenic Southport is just the ticket.

A day in coastal Southport where you might like to explore the Grade II listed pleasure pier that has its own tramcar. Stroll around the marine lake, relax on the sandy beach, or visit the colourful botanic gardens with its leafy pathways to explore. For retail therapy, refined Lord Street is the epitome of elegant shopping in classy surroundings. For something a little bit different, the quirky British Lawnmower Museum promises a unique experience.
Discover the endless charms of Chester with its hidden treasures such as the thirteenth century gallery of half-timbered shops. Walk the City Walls or visit the cathedral, a beautiful building that began life as a Saxon Minster. Discover the Roman amphitheatre, the castle and The Rows or take a boat trip on the River Dee.
Visitor attractions include Albert Dock where you can step back to the 1960s and discover the story of how four young Liverpool lads were thrust to the dizzying heights of fame at The Beatles Story - a living history museum where the band’s legend unfolds through memorabilia, photographs and replicas. Sticking with the Fab Four, perhaps venture through the bright red gates of Strawberry Field – the famous grounds where a young John Lennon came to reflect. This interactive experience tells the tale of the Victorian children’s home and John Lennon’s childhood. Albert Dock is also home to The Tate Liverpool, International Slavery Museum and the Merseyside Maritime Museum.
