This seaside sensation presents the opportunity to explore iconic Italian hotspots as well as getting off the beaten track to discover hidden gems. Often overlooked, medieval Padua is an utterly enchanting city with splendid statues, domed buildings, ornate bridges, arcaded streets and a thirteenth century basilica as well as frescoes by Giotto in its Scrovegni Chapel. The walled town of Treviso is sometimes overshadowed by its near neighbour Venice yet has a lot to offer in its own right. A pleasant , prosperous town, it features sparkling waterways, cobbled lanes, ancient churches and historical attractions such as the Palazzo dei Trecento. We also head to Venice, a fairytale city of canals and gondolas, and to vivacious Verona, the romantic setting for Romeo & Juliet. Our base is lovely Lido di Jesolo where the golden sands are lapped by the rolling waves of the Adriatic and the enchanting old town has lively piazzas bordered by pavement cafes.
