Our outstanding base is Racket Hall Country House, an elegant hotel, tucked away beneath the Slieve Bloom Mountains in the heritage town of Roscrea. It boasts countryside views, open fireplaces, a wood panelled bar, fine cuisine and spacious, well-appointed bedrooms. Look forward to great entertainment on two nights of your stay. Sensational sightseeing takes in a day in the walled city of Limerick, where the main attraction is King John’s Castle, which is perched on an island in the heart of the metropolis. Next day we’re off to medieval Kilkenny, also home to an imposing castle as well as a 16th century merchant’s townhouse. Our final outing takes us to the Rock of Cashel, an intriguing huddle of ancient buildings including a round tower and cathedral. From here, we move on to quaint Cahir.

Rock of Cashel & Cahir
Enjoy our included excursion to see the Rock of Cashel, wildly regarded as one of ireland's most spectactular sights. Cashel is in the heart of Tipperary and the Rock of Cashel was once known as St Patrick's Rock and the Cashel of the Kings. The area and rock is steeped in history dating back to the 5th century, all waiting for you to explore. Afterwards we continue to the pretty town of Cahir fro free time.
Today join our excursion to the attractive city of Kilkenny on the banks of the River Nore, with its Elizabethan architecture and winding passages and lanes. Kilkenny has a fascinating medieval history and a thriving crafts industry. See the magnificent 12th century Kilkenny Castle which overlooks thr River Nore and the Kilkenny Design Crafts Centre, home to a selection of Irish hand crafted gifts in the city, or perhaps visit the Medieval Mile Museum in the heart of St Mary's church filled with artefacts and sculptures.
We travel to the walled city of Limerick, set on the River Shannon. The city is overlooked by the 13th century King John's Castle, where we enjoy free time to explore. m
