Isle Of Wight: Shanklin
9 days
9 Day Coach Holiday
With its sweeping coastline, golden beaches, seafront promenades and thatch-roofed villages, it’s easy to see why the Isle of Wight is such a magnet for tourists. Dinosaur remains can be found in places like Compton Bay and the island has a museum exhibiting over a thousand relics taking visitors from the Ice Age to the recent past. Perhaps uncover centuries of history at Carisbrooke Castle, a motte and bailey fortress where Charles I was imprisoned. Our holiday is based in Shanklin, a charming Victorian town and popular resort set against spectacular sandstone cliffs with a wide sandy beach flanked by colourful beach huts. Its lively esplanade bustles with seaside amusements and tearooms. Enjoy a quieter time in floral Rylstone Gardens or at the unique Shanklin Chine - a stunning gorge with unusual plants and a tumbling waterfall. Hop aboard the cliff lift to reach the enchanting Old Village with its lovely stone cottages.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.

Your Excursions
Island Highlights TourSit back and enjoy the views as we showcase the picture postcard places that make this stunning island so irresistible such as pretty Yarmouth, colourful Alum Bay and the iconic Needles that reach out to sea.
Godshill & Newport
Feast your eyes on chocolate-box Godshill, regarded as the prettiest place on the isle. We continue to the island capital of Newport, a historic town where the focal point is two elegant squares flanked by Georgian and Victorian architecture. The Museum of Island History, Roman Villa and the Quay Arts Centre are all within walking distance of its hub.
Ryde
Explore traditional Ryde where you’ll find a pleasant promenade, pleasure pier and an award winning beach. With its well-established shopping areas, the town is arguably the best place on the island for some retail therapy.
Osborne House
Queen Victoria’s sumptuous seaside palace rests amid breathtaking, landscaped gardens – little wonder her majesty remarked upon her first visit that it was ‘impossible to imagine a prettier spot’. Our visit allows access to Victoria and Albert’s private quarters, the lavish State Rooms and the Bathing Machine that preserved the queen’s modesty (8 & 9 day holidays only).
