Isle Of Wight - Shanklin
9 days
9 Day Coach Holiday
Known as ‘England in miniature’, the enchanting Isle of Wight lies off the south coast of mainland Britain and attracts 2.6 million visitors each year with its golden beaches, gorgeous gardens, wildlife habitats, thatch-roofed villages, and visitor attractions. The island’s landmark Needles feature a row of three stacks of chalk that rise thirty metres from the sea. Catch the chairlift to gently glide from Alum Bay Cliff down to the beach as you view this world famous attraction or get even closer with a boat ride. Perhaps head to the island’s steam railway to step back to a bygone era, relaxing aboard a nostalgic carriage, thrilling to the sounds of a powerful engine as you trundle through beautiful countryside. Elsewhere, dinosaur remains can be found in Compton Bay, the local museum exhibits relics from the Ice Age, and centuries of history can be uncovered at Carisbrooke Castle. Our holidays are based in Shanklin, a Victorian resort set against sandstone cliffs with a sandy beach flanked by vintage beach huts. Its esplanade bustles with seaside amusements and tea rooms. Enjoy a quieter time amid unique plants at Shanklin Chine or hop aboard the cliff lift to reach the Old Village with its enchanting stone cottages.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.

Your Excursions
Island Highlights Guided TourEnjoy the views as we showcase the picture postcard places that make this stunning island so irresistible and a huge magnet for holidaymakers.
Godshill & Newport
Feast your eyes on chocolate-box Godshill, regarded as the prettiest place on the isle. We continue to the island capital of Newport, a historic town where the focal point is two elegant squares flanked by Georgian and Victorian architecture. The Museum of Island History, Roman Villa and the Quay Arts Centre are all within walking distance of its hub.
The Needles & Yarmouth
No holiday on the Isle of Wight is complete without visiting the iconic Needles Rocks & Lighthouse. Why not treat yourself to a trip on the chairlift or head to the jetty and board the pleasure boat to get the best views of the white chalk rocks. We continue to the historic port town of Yarmouth where you might like to visit the sixteenth century castle where you can take in wonderful vistas of the Solent from its battlements.
Osborne House
Queen Victoria’s sumptuous seaside palace rests amid breathtaking, landscaped gardens – little wonder her majesty remarked upon her first visit that it was ‘impossible to imagine a prettier spot’. Our visit allows access to Victoria and Albert’s private quarters, the lavish State Rooms and the Bathing Machine that preserved the queen’s modesty. (nine day holidays only)
