London boasts iconic landmarks such as Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral and so many more. Discover these historic sights at your own pace on your free day in the city. A treat for guests travelling on our August date will be our day at Buckingham Palace & Gardens where we view the State Rooms and grounds. Guests on all other dates will enjoy an excursion to stately Kensington Palace to view the glamorous outfits of Diana, Princess of Wales. This exhibition features unforgettable garments such as the pink Emmanuel blouse worn for her engagement photo shoot. We also enjoy an outing to historic Windsor, home to a breathtaking castle.
Diana: Her Fashion Story
We head to Kensington Palace where we trace the evolving style of the late Princess Diana from the demure outfits of her first public appearances to the glitzy elegance of her later life including the velvet gown she wore at the White House when she danced with John Travolta (excludes August departure).
Buckingham Palace & Gardens
See the glorious State Rooms where the Queen receives visiting dignitaries. Look out for fine furniture and exquisite sculptures as well as paintings by Van Dyck and Canaletto. The stunning gardens boast wild flowers, trees and a three-acre lake (August departure only).
Main attraction is the breathtaking castle which is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. Perhaps catch the Hop on, Hop off bus that passes the castle and Eton College on its circuit.
Day at leisure to perhaps treat yourself to a bird’s eye view of the city from the London Eye, take a sightseeing cruise along the Thames or use the tourist buses to whizz round the sights.
