Itinerary

Overview

The walled city of York is a historic gem and perennial favourite. At its heart stands the breathtaking Gothic minster; truly a masterpiece of sculptured stone and stained glass windows. The City Walls form a walkway on both banks of the River Ouse while York Castle is an imposing tower. Roam the labyrinth of alleyways, take a boat trip or step back a thousand years at the Jorvik Viking Centre. Look forward to a day at Castle Howard, a stunning mansion used as a location for film and television dramas including Victoria, Death Comes To Pemberley and Brideshead Revisited. We also visit the renowned towns of Knaresborough and Harrogate.
