Plan My Trip

Nestling between Germany, France and Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a fairytale haven with historic fortresses and picture-postcard hamlets. Our holiday is based in Vianden, a pretty village tucked-away near the border with Germany and towered over by an impeccably restored medieval castle. We venture out to visit the tourist hub of Remich and lovely Echternach - Luxembourg’s oldest town. We also take in a guided tour of stylish Luxembourg City. The Grand Hotel de Vianden is ideally situated within walking distance of the medieval town centre, the River Our and the imposing castle and makes a delightful base for our adventure.

Your Holiday Itinerary

Day One. We travel to Hull for our ferry to Rotterdam enjoying dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.

Day Two. We make our way to magical Vianden. The afternoon is free to explore - visit the storybook castle, hop onboard ‘Benni’, the little land train for a round trip or catch the chair lift and take in panoramic views of the romantic Our Valley.

Day Three. A guided walking tour of chic Luxembourg City today. This unique capital boasts attractions such as the Palais-Grand Ducal and the Bock Casemates – eighteenth century hidden passages.

Day Four. We head along the banks of the Moselle to pretty Remich, known as the Pearl of the Moselle with its quaint winding lanes and riverbank promenade. Later we continue through the breathtaking Mullertahl region – nicknamed “Little Switzerland” – to Echternach, the oldest town in Luxembourg with two thousand years of historical treasures.

Day Five. A day at leisure to relax or explore Vianden.

Day Six. Late morning, we make our way to Rotterdam for our ferry back to Hull with dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.

Day Seven. We journey home.
