Hidden Gems Of Ireland's Ancient East - Wicklow Mountains & Waterford
5 Day Coach Holiday
Extending over much of County Wicklow on the east coast of Ireland, the picturesque Wicklow Mountains National Park boasts a landscape of chocolate box vistas showcasing untamed forests, twisting mountain roads, fast flowing streams and the verdant Glendalough Valley. From the wonder of Wicklow, we proceed to pretty Avoca – a town immortalised by Thomas Moore in the song ‘The Meeting of the Waters’ as well as being the setting for the much-loved television series, Ballykissangel. We discover Stone Age settlements at Lullymore Heritage Park, call at Kildare, then pop into the Silverware Museum of Style Icons where we experience glamorous fashion from celebrities such as Princess Diana and Audrey Hepburn. Our final day out takes us to wonderful Waterford – a thousand-year-old city – with a medieval flavour, atmospheric streets and a lively waterfront. Our base is Carlow, a delightful town on the banks of the River Barrow.
