Famed for its healing waters, the stylish Montpellier Quarter and legendary Betty’s Tearooms, the Victorian spa town of Harrogate abounds with traditional charm. We explore the Yorkshire Dales where we include entrance to the fascinating Countryside Museum. Housed in an imaginative conversion of Hawes Railway Station, here the story of the Yorkshire Dales is told with interesting themes such as school days, home life and local crafts. Another treat is our day in fairytale York, a walled city celebrated for its Roman, Viking and medieval heritage and famed for its breathtaking thirteenth century Gothic minster - truly a masterpiece of sculptured stone and stained glass windows.
Your Holiday Itinerary
Day One. From local joining points we head south and check into the Kimberley Hotel.
Day Two. A day at leisure to do your own thing – perhaps treat yourself to a cuppa in Betty’s legendary tearooms.
Day Three. We explore the picturesque Yorkshire Dales where we include entry to the thought provoking Countryside Museum which is housed in a Victorian railway station. Later we call in at the pretty little market town of Leyburn.
Day Four. A holiday highlight as we spend the day in historic York where the spectacular minster is a must see. Perhaps roam the labyrinth of alleyways, take a boat trip on the River Ouse, visit the National Railway Museum, explore the Jorvik Viking Centre, view the city walls or head to York Castle - an imposing tower set high on a mound giving panoramic views.
Day Five. After breakfast, we travel home.Back to top
