Famed for its healing waters, the stylish Montpellier Quarter and legendary Betty’s Tearooms, the Victorian spa town of Harrogate abounds with traditional charm. We explore the Yorkshire Dales where we include entrance to the fascinating Countryside Museum. Housed in an imaginative conversion of Hawes Railway Station, here the story of the Yorkshire Dales is told with interesting themes such as school days, home life and local crafts. Another treat is our day in fairytale York, a walled city celebrated for its Roman, Viking and medieval heritage and famed for its breathtaking thirteenth century Gothic minster - truly a masterpiece of sculptured stone and stained glass windows.
