The City Walls form a pleasant walkway on both banks of the River Ouse while York Castle is an imposing tower, set high on a mound giving panoramic views across the cityscape. Roam the labyrinth of alleyways, take a
boat trip or sip a drink by the river. Perhaps broaden your mind at one of the absorbing museums such as the National Railway Museum or the award winning Jorvik Viking Centre where you can step back a thousand years to the Middle Ages.
