Experience Royal Deeside and the majesty of a captivating castle along with the delights of coastal towns on this varied holiday. Based in Montrose, where you’ll find a sandy beach and an attractive old quarter as well as a fascinating museum and art gallery. Watch wild birds at the town’s Basin Visitor Centre, or head to Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre, the site of Britain’s first operational military air station where you’ll see aircraft including a Hawker Hunter and a Tornado.

Your Excursions
Guided Tour of Glamis Castle & PerthGlamis Castle has witnessed over a thousand years of history and was the setting for Shakespeare’s Macbeth. This fairytale fortress with towers and turrets was the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, and birthplace of Princess Margaret. Every room, painting and piece of furniture has a story to tell while outside the stunning gardens feature themed walks. Afterwards, free time in Perth.
Royal Deeside: Ballater & Braemar
This scenic drive takes us to picture postcard Ballater, the nearest village to Balmoral Castle and where you’ll find “By Royal Appointment” signs and speciality shops. Later we pass the baronial style castle itself, before calling at the ancient village of Braemar.
St Andrews
Attractions include a twelfth century cathedral with its soaring tower and medieval sculptures. Stroll along the beach, view the Swilcan Bridge and castle ruins, sip a cuppa in the café where Prince William met Kate or visit the British Golf Museum.
