12 Day Coach Holiday
On this magnifico tour, we stay on the lakeside in the picture perfect resort of Sirmione, known as the Pearl of Lake Garda. Perched on a narrow peninsula where you’re never far from stunning views, gorgeous Sirmione offers a delightful blend of lively lanes with shops and café-bars alongside ancient architecture. Take a stroll to the tip of the peninsula to visit the relics of Grotto di Catullo, an atmospheric Roman villa, built around the first century BC, and one of the most fascinating archaeological sites in Italy. Grand Scaligero Castle stands imposingly at the entrance to the Old Town, built in the Middle Ages, surrounded by water, and well worth a visit. Or perhaps you’d like to soak in natural thermal waters at the resort’s Spa & Thermal Gardens. Exceptional sightseeing takes in Malcesine, a resort that rises from the sparkling water in a pretty jumble of cobbled streets and little squares. Then there’s historic Garda, a former fishing village and now one of the main resorts with its beach and promenade. Look forward to exploring Venice, the romantic city of canals, and Verona, home to one of the best preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world, as well as Juliet’s Balcony on Via Cappello.

Your Holiday Itinerary
Day One. We head to our overnight ferry to the continent, where we enjoy dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.
Day Two. We continue to our dinner, bed and breakfast hotel.
Day Three. Onwards to Sirmione where we check into the Hotel Smeraldo for our seven night stay.
Day Four. We journey to beautiful Malcesine. This town has a rotating cable car taking visitors to Tratto Spino on Mount Baldo where you’ll find easy walkways, panoramic views and mountain huts selling food. Perhaps visit the striking Castello Scaligero or browse the small boutique shops.
Day Five. A guided walking tour of Venice is our treat today where you’ll find impressive and iconic sights such as St Mark’s Square, the Basilica, the Bridge of Sighs and the Ponte Rialto. Perhaps indulge in a gondola ride, meander through the maze of narrow streets or watch the colourful vessels on the Grand Canal.
Days Six & Seven. Two free days to explore divine Sirmione. Relax in the resort’s Spa & Thermal Gardens or visit the historic sights.
Day Eight. Another day, another delight as we journey to vivacious Verona, an unspoilt city with a well preserved Roman amphitheatre. Other attractions include the Basilica of St Zeno, the Lamberti Tower and the bustling market at Piazza delle Erbe. Be sure to visit “Juliet’s House” on the Via Cappello!
Day Nine. This morning we board our boat in Sirmione for a scenic cruise to Garda. Enjoy exploring Garda’s medieval centre with its tiny alleys that show traces of lifestyles throughout the centuries. Later, we return to our hotel by coach.
Day Ten. A fond arrivederci as we journey to our dinner, bed and breakfast overnight hotel.
Day Eleven. We continue to our overnight ferry with dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.
Day Twelve. We make our way home with our wonderful holiday memories

Overnight Ferry to Continent
Your holiday moves up a gear when you board your overnight ferry for your sailing to the continent. Drop your overnight bag in your cabin then explore the ship or unwind with an aperitif in one of the bars.
On Board Dining
All GLENTON continental holidays include dinner and breakfast onboard. Head to buffet restaurant where your waiter will show you to your table and take your order if you wish to purchase any drinks. Then you’re free to help yourself from the wide selection of tasty dishes from around the world. At breakfast, choose from continental or a fully cooked menu. Alternatively if you fancy treating yourself, why not upgrade to the à la carte restaurant and enjoy fine dining with full waiter service?
Entertainment
Make your way to the show lounge and enjoy live entertainment throughout the evening – or take your place on the dance floor for a wee boogie! Perhaps you’d like to catch a blockbuster movie at the cinema or try your luck at the casino.

Your GLENTON continental holiday includes an air conditioned inside en suite cabin with bunk beds. However, you can upgrade to a cabin with level beds and/or sea view for a small supplement. Please ask your holiday advisor when booking.
