Splendid sightseeing is in store on this enchanting holiday based in Birr, an Irish heritage town in County Offaly. Birr is a virtually intact Georgian town with elegant period houses flanking tree-lined malls and refined avenues, perhaps visit Birr Castle Demesne, one of Ireland’s top attractions. The grounds of this storybook fortress are a tranquil oasis with a fairytale moat, romantic walks, rare plants and waterfalls. Out and about we explore the walled city of Limerick on the mighty River Shannon, gorgeous Galway and we are treated to a guided tour of Tullamore Whiskey Heritage Centre.

This enchanting walled city is home to thirteenth century King John’s Castle, perched on King’s Island in the medieval heart of the metropolis. This commanding fortress has a state-of-the-art visitor centre that brings history to life. Elsewhere, view the collections at the City Gallery of Art or rare antiquities at the Hunt Museum.
Guided Tour of Tullamore Whiskey Heritage Centre
Today we head to legendary Tullamore Whiskey Heritage Centre for a guided tour to learn the history of Irish whiskey. Through audiovisual media and traditional storytelling, you’ll see, smell, taste and understand the craft, time and passion dedicated to each glass of Tullamore Whiskey.
Galway
The gorgeous harbour town of Galway is colourful, cultural and compact as well as being home to eighteenth century Eyre Square and a Latin Quarter with twisting lanes and quirky cafés.
