Our impressive itinerary includes a visit to Athlone, a town with a dramatic backstory set on the banks of the mighty River Shannon. From here, you’ll be transported back through the centuries at the Kilbeggan Distillery Experience. We include a day in Galway, a handsome city, ideally compact for a stroll through its winding streets. Our final outing takes us to Birr where we include entrance to Birr Castle Gardens, a storybook fortress and one of Ireland’s top attractions. Explore beautiful Birr, a virtually intact Georgian town.

Onwards to Kilbeggan Distillery Experience to view the creaking waterwheel and giant steam engine before tasting three whiskeys from the range.
Galway
A free day in Galway where you’ll find a bustling waterfront and foreboding Lynch’s Castle, eighteenth century Eyre Square and a Latin Quarter with twisting lanes and quirky cafes.
Birr & Birr Castle Gardens
We visit Birr where we include entrance to the castle gardens. The grounds of this storybook fortress are a tranquil oasis with a fairytale moat, rare plants and waterfalls. Afterwards, explore the Irish heritage town of Birr.
