On this holiday of contrasts we visit the Belgian seaside resort of Ostend, see the sights in romantic Paris, then discover the bravery of the soldiers of the Great War as we explore some of the sites of the bloodiest conflicts and pay our respects at beautiful monuments and graveyards scattered throughout France and Belgium. We stay at the Ibis Style, Lille and a visit to medieval Bruges completes an enthralling itinerary.
Your Holiday Itinerary
Day One. We head to Hull for our overnight ferry to Zeebrugge, enjoying dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.
Day Two. We make our way to Ostend for some free time. Afterwards, we continue to Ibis Styles Hotel, Lille where dinner is included this evening.
Day Three. Today we travel through the Ypres Salient that was the scene of some of the bloodiest battles. Beginning at the preserved trenches of Sanctuary Wood, we stop at the museum before continuing to Tyne Cot Cemetery. Afterwards, we move on to the Messines Ridge sector and the nearby Irish Peace Tower. At Ploegsteert we learn about the compassion of the Christmas Truce and view the memorial. We have free time to dine at our own expense before the moving Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate.
Day Four. An early morning departure for Paris where you can take in the sights. After dinner at your own expense, we enjoy an evening drive through the city before returning to our hotel.
Day Five. We travel to Bruges for free time. From here, we continue to Zeebrugge for our ferry back to Hull with dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.
Day Six. We make our way home from Hull.

Your holiday moves up a gear when you board your P&O ferry at Hull for your sailing to the continent. drop your overnight bag in your cabin then explore the ship or unwind with an aperitif in one of the bars.
On Board Dining
All GLENTON continental holidays include dinner and breakfast onboard. Head to ‘The Kitchen’ buffet restaurant where your waiter will show you to your table and take your order if you wish to purchase any drinks. Then you’re free to help yourself from the wide selection of tasty dishes from around the world. At breakfast, choose from continental or a fully cooked menu. Alternatively if you fancy treating yourself, why not upgrade to The Brasserie Restaurant and enjoy fine dining with full waiter service?
Make your way to the Show Lounge and enjoy live bands throughout the evening – there’s even a dance floor if you fancy a wee boogie! Or slow the pace down at the Piano Bar where you can sip a cocktail as you listen to mellow music. Perhaps you’d like to catch a blockbuster movie at the cinema or try your luck at the casino.
Your GLENTON continental holiday includes an air conditioned inside en suite cabin with bunk beds. However, you can upgrade to a cabin with level beds and/or sea view for a small supplement. Please ask your holiday advisor when booking.
